NFH Anti-Ox SAP, 120 Capsules
Description
Three botanical antioxidants in one capsule: turmeric, green tea and grape seed. They're grouped together because they work in different places — curcumin is fat-soluble and concentrates in membranes, EGCG and grape seed proanthocyanidins are water-soluble polyphenols. Buying them separately means three bottles and three price tags.
What's in the blend
- Water-soluble curcumin from turmeric extract. Plain curcumin is notoriously poorly absorbed — it barely dissolves in water, which is why standard turmeric capsules often disappoint. The water-soluble form addresses that directly.
- Green tea extract standardized to EGCG, the catechin that makes up the bulk of green tea's polyphenol content.
- Grape seed extract, supplying proanthocyanidins — the polyphenol group behind grape seed's long-standing use for vascular support.
Why standardized extracts
NFH's SAP designation means each botanical is standardized to a fixed level of its active compounds. Turmeric root powder and a standardized curcumin extract are not remotely the same thing in strength, and the same holds for green tea and grape seed. Standardization is what makes the dose on the label meaningful.
Who buys it
- People currently taking two or three of these separately who'd rather consolidate
- Anyone building a general antioxidant base rather than targeting one concern
- Shoppers who've tried ordinary turmeric capsules and want a better-absorbed form
Format
120 capsules. Manufactured in Canada to NFH's practitioner-grade standards, without unnecessary additives.
Important before you start
This blend has more interaction potential than a single-ingredient supplement, so it's worth a conversation with your pharmacist or doctor if you take other medication. Specifically:
- Blood thinners — curcumin and grape seed extract can both affect clotting. Stop use well before any scheduled surgery.
- Green tea extract — concentrated EGCG has been associated with liver issues in rare cases. Take with food, don't exceed the label dose, and stop if you notice unusual fatigue, abdominal pain or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
- Gallbladder problems — curcumin isn't advised if you have gallstones or bile duct obstruction.
Consult a healthcare professional if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking prescription medication. Store cool and dry, out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
