NFH Iron SAP 120 Capsules
Description
The usual complaint about iron supplements isn't that they don't work — it's that people stop taking them. Constipation, nausea, an unsettled stomach. NFH Iron SAP uses iron bisglycinate, a chelated form bound to the amino acid glycine, which is generally better tolerated than the conventional iron salts that cause most of those problems.
What you're getting
30 mg of elemental iron per capsule as iron bisglycinate, 120 capsules per bottle. It isn't iron on its own — the formula also includes methylfolate, methylcobalamin (B12), vitamin B6, riboflavin and copper, all of which have roles in red blood cell formation and how the body puts iron to use.
Why the chelated form
Binding iron to glycine does two useful things: it improves absorption, and it reduces the interference from dietary compounds like phytates that otherwise block iron uptake. It's also less irritating to the digestive tract, which in practice means people are more likely to stay on it long enough to rebuild their stores.
Often chosen by
- People who've tried standard iron tablets and couldn't tolerate them
- Anyone with higher iron needs — including athletes and those on plant-based diets
- Shoppers who want the supporting B vitamins included rather than bought separately
- Those wanting a larger 120-capsule bottle for an extended course
Format and exclusions
120 capsules, once-daily. Non-GMO and free from gluten, dairy, soy, wheat, citrus, starch, sugar, artificial flavours and preservatives.
Important before you start
Don't supplement iron without knowing your levels. Iron is one of the few nutrients where too much is a genuine problem — excess iron accumulates and can cause harm, and the symptoms of low iron overlap with plenty of other things. Ask your doctor for bloodwork (ferritin and a CBC) before starting, and follow their guidance on dose and duration.
Keep well out of reach of children — accidental iron overdose is a leading cause of poisoning in children under six. Store cool and dry, away from direct sunlight, with the cap closed.
