Caltrate with Vitamin D3

Caltrate with Vitamin D3 is a daily calcium supplement designed to support strong bones, healthy teeth, and overall musculoskeletal health.

It combines elemental calcium with vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) to improve calcium absorption and maintain adequate calcium levels when dietary intake is insufficient.

Directions:

  • Adults: Take 1 tablet daily. The tablet may be broken in half for convenience.
  • Take with food, a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health products.
  • Do not exceed the recommended daily dose unless directed by a healthcare professional.

Each bottle contains 60 tablets, ideal for regular supplementation.

Ingredients:

Caltrate with Vitamin D3 contains clinically recognized ingredients that work together to support bone strength and calcium absorption.

Active Ingredients:

  • Calcium Carbonate 600mg – Provides a high concentration of elemental calcium to support bone density.
  • Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) 20mcg/800 IU – Helps improve calcium absorption and supports healthy immune function.

Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Cellulose, Magnesium Stearate, Croscarmellose Sodium, Hypromellose, Titanium Dioxide (tablet coating)

Precautions:

Before using Caltrate with Vitamin D3, review the following precautions to ensure safe use:

Excessive intake may lead to high calcium levels, which can cause nausea, vomiting, or fatigue. Stop using the product and consult a medical professional if you notice any unusual or concerning symptoms.

If patients have questions about interactions, dose, or whether they should use calcium at all (e.g., due to kidney stones or high calcium), Healthy Hub pharmacists in Ontario can help them choose an appropriate bone‑health plan.
