Salinex Nasal Spray for Children 2+ years, 30 mL Saline
Description
Ingredients
Active Ingredients:
- Sodium Chloride (Sterile Saline) …………… 0.65% This saline concentration is gentle and isotonic, similar to the body’s natural fluids. It helps safely moisturize and clear nasal passages without irritating delicate tissues in young children.
Inactive Ingredients:
- Purified water
- Sodium phosphate (buffering agent)
- Potassium phosphate (pH stabilizer)
The simple, drug-free formula makes this spray suitable for everyday use, especially during colds, allergies, dry air, or sinus discomfort. Because it contains only saline and supportive buffering agents, Salinex maintains safety and comfort for children aged 2 years and older.
How to Use
Salinex Nasal Spray is designed to relieve nasal congestion and dryness in children 2 years and older. Gentle saline helps break up mucus, flush allergens, and support easier breathing.
- Before first use, prime the pump by squirting into a tissue until a fine mist appears.
- Have your child sit upright or tilt their head slightly forward.
- Insert the nozzle gently into one nostril.
- Press the pump once to release the saline mist.
- Repeat in the other nostril.
- After spraying, gently wipe away excess fluid with a soft tissue.
- Use before meals or bedtime to help with breathing comfort.
It’s normal for a small amount of fluid to come out of the nose or mouth after spraying — this means the saline is helping clear the passages.
Dosage
Salinex Nasal Spray is drug-free and can be used according to symptom relief, but follow these age-appropriate suggestions:
- Children 2–6 years: 1–2 sprays per nostril, up to 4–6 times daily.
- Children 7 years and older: 2 sprays per nostril, up to 6 times daily.
Use more frequently during periods of dryness, winter air, travel, or allergy flare-ups. If your child experiences persistent discomfort, consult a healthcare provider for tailored advice.
Precautions
Salinex Nasal Spray is generally safe, but mindful use will maximize comfort and safety:
- Use only as directed. Do not exceed recommended frequency.
- Do not share the spray between children to avoid cross-contamination.
- Avoid forceful insertion of the nozzle — a gentle approach ensures comfort.
- Store the bottle upright with the cap securely closed after use.
- If your child has a history of nasal surgery or chronic nasal issues, seek advice from a pediatrician before use.
- Watch for signs of irritation, frequent nosebleeds, or persistent coughing — discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider if these occur.
If symptoms persist beyond a few days or are accompanied by fever or ear pain, seek medical evaluation.
Side Effects
Because Salinex Nasal Spray contains only gentle saline, side effects are rare. However, some children may experience:
- Mild stinging or tingling immediately after spraying
- Temporary increase in nasal discharge as mucus is loosened
- Occasional sneezing reflex
These mild sensations are usually short-lived and indicate the saline working to clear and hydrate nasal passages. If your child shows signs of significant irritation, persistent bleeding, or discomfort, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
