Choosing the right supplies
- Test strips only work with their own meter family. OneTouch Verio strips fit Verio meters, OneTouch Ultra strips fit Ultra meters, and Contour Next strips fit Contour Next meters. Check the name on your meter before you order.
- CGM sensors are system-specific. FreeStyle Libre 2 and Libre 3 sensors, and Dexcom G7 sensors, each work only with their own reader or app.
- Pen needles are listed by gauge (G) and length (mm). Shorter needles such as 4 mm suit most adults; use the size your diabetes educator or pharmacist recommended.
- Lancets must match your lancing device, for example Microlet lancets for Microlet devices and FastClix drums for the Accu-Chek FastClix device.
Good to know
Coverage for diabetes supplies varies by province and private plan, so keep your receipt for reimbursement. Sharps such as lancets and pen needles cannot be returned for safety reasons.
