Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Sensor

The Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor is a small, discreet glucose sensor worn on the back of the upper arm. It reads glucose continuously for up to 14 days, so routine finger pricks aren't needed. It is used by people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes to see their glucose levels, trends and patterns throughout the day and night.

Features

• Wear time of up to 14 days per sensor
• Optional alarms for high and low glucose
• Works with the FreeStyle Libre app on compatible smartphones, or with a reader
• Water-resistant, so you can shower, swim and exercise with it
• Small, low-profile design that fits under clothing

Getting started

• Clean and dry a spot on the back of your upper arm.
• Use the included applicator to put on the sensor.
• Start the sensor with your app or reader, and follow the warm-up instructions.
• Replace it with a new sensor when the wear period ends.

Good to know

• Talk to your diabetes care team about how to use your readings, and when to confirm them with a finger-prick test, especially if your symptoms don't match the reading.
• Remove the sensor before MRI, CT scans or diathermy. Check Abbott's instructions for other procedures.
• Check that your phone model is compatible before you buy.
