Pepcid AC Original Strength contains famotidine, an H2 blocker that reduces how much acid your stomach makes. Antacids neutralize acid that is already there, but Pepcid AC works at the source. It relieves heartburn and acid indigestion, and it can prevent them if you take it before a trigger meal.

How to use

  • For ages 12 and older. Follow the package for the dose and the daily maximum.
  • To prevent heartburn, take it 15–60 minutes before food or drinks that usually cause it.
  • Swallow the tablet with water.

  • Heartburn lasting more than 2 weeks, or needing it regularly
  • Difficulty or pain when swallowing, vomiting blood, or black stools
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Chest pain, especially with shortness of breath or pain spreading to the arm or jaw. Get emergency help.
