Gaviscon Regular Strength Liquid Icy Mint, 340 mL

Gaviscon works differently from ordinary antacids. Its sodium alginate reacts with stomach acid to form a soothing raft that floats on top of your stomach contents, a physical barrier that keeps acid from splashing up into the esophagus. Antacids alongside it neutralise excess acid. The icy mint flavour is refreshing.

Active ingredients

• Sodium alginate: forms the protective barrier
• Aluminum hydroxide: neutralises acid
• Magnesium carbonate: helps balance acidity
• Plus purified water, mint flavour, sweeteners and stabilisers

How to take

• Adults and children 12+: 10–20 mL after meals and at bedtime, up to 4 times a day
• Shake well and measure; swallow slowly without diluting
• Under 12: only on medical advice
• See a doctor if symptoms last more than 2 weeks

Precautions

• Kidney disease or a sodium-restricted diet: check with a health professional first
• Space it from other medicines, as it can affect absorption
• Not for long-term daily use without guidance; ask first if pregnant or breastfeeding
• Possible: bloating, mild constipation or diarrhea, nausea
• Store at room temperature; don't freeze
