NFH Lutein SAP provides non-GMO lutein and zeaxanthin, sourced from marigold flower, in a synergistic combination — two carotenoid pigments concentrated specifically in the lens and macular region of the eyes.

Why lutein and zeaxanthin together

These two carotenoids are unique among antioxidants for their hydroxy groups, which let them cross the blood-ocular and blood-brain barriers — most antioxidants can't reach eye tissue this directly. Once there, both act as potent antioxidants that help filter high-energy blue light and protect against sunlight-related eye damage, supporting reduced cataract risk and improved macular pigment density over time.

Before you start

Lutein and zeaxanthin are fat-soluble, so taking with a meal containing fat significantly improves absorption. Generally very safe with no significant interactions; smokers should discuss high-dose carotenoid supplementation with a practitioner, following the pattern seen with beta-carotene research. Store in a cool, dry place, and keep out of reach of children.
