NFH D-Mannose SAP, 50 g

NFH D-Mannose SAP combines D-mannose (4600 mg) with cranberry extract (400 mg) in a targeted formula for urinary tract health, pairing two ingredients that work through different mechanisms against the same bacteria.

Two mechanisms, one target

E. coli — responsible for roughly 85% of UTIs — adheres to the urinary tract lining through two distinct mechanisms. D-mannose blocks type-1 (FimH) adhesion by binding to the same receptors the bacteria would otherwise attach to, while cranberry's proanthocyanidins interfere with a separate, P-type fimbrial adhesion pathway. Using both together covers more ground than either ingredient alone.

Format and exclusions

50 g powder per container, 5 g (about 2½ tsp) once or twice daily. Non-GMO, and made without gluten, dairy, soy, or artificial additives.

Before you start

D-mannose is generally well tolerated, though those with diabetes should monitor blood sugar since it is a sugar, and high doses can occasionally cause loose stool. This is not a treatment for an active, symptomatic UTI — seek medical care for signs of infection. Store in a cool, dry place, and keep out of reach of children.
