NFH B-Heme Iron SAP, 60 Capsules

NFH B-Heme Iron SAP is built for people who've tried standard iron and couldn't tolerate it. Instead of an elemental iron salt, it uses heme iron polypeptide — derived from bovine hemoglobin — the same form of iron your body absorbs from meat.

Why heme iron is different

Heme iron is absorbed through a dedicated intestinal pathway separate from non-heme iron, so it isn't blocked by the phytates and polyphenols in food the way plain iron salts are. In practice, that usually means better absorption and far less of the constipation, nausea, and stomach upset that cause most people to quit their iron supplement partway through.

Before you start

Get your iron levels tested first. Iron is one of the few nutrients where too much causes real harm — the body has no efficient way to excrete excess iron, so it accumulates. Ask your doctor for a ferritin test and CBC before starting, and follow their guidance on dose and duration. Keep well out of reach of children: iron products are a leading cause of accidental poisoning in young children. Store cool and dry, away from direct sunlight.
