NFH 5-HTP SAP 100 mg, 90 Capsules

NFH 5-HTP SAP provides 100 mg of 5-hydroxytryptophan per capsule. It is extracted from the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia, an African plant. In the body, the amino acid tryptophan becomes 5-HTP, and 5-HTP becomes serotonin. Serotonin itself can't reach the brain when taken by mouth, but its precursor 5-HTP can.

Important: read before buying

• Do not combine with antidepressants or other serotonin-affecting medicines unless the prescribing doctor approves. These include SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, tricyclics, triptans, tramadol, lithium, dextromethorphan and St. John's Wort. The combination can cause serotonin syndrome, a serious reaction.
• This is not a treatment for depression or anxiety. Never stop or reduce a prescribed medication to try a supplement.
• Not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in children.
• Ask your doctor first if you have liver disease or upcoming surgery.

Format

90 vegetarian capsules, 100 mg each. Free from gluten, dairy, soy and artificial additives.

How to take it

Follow the label or your practitioner's directions. Taking it with food helps reduce nausea. It may cause drowsiness, so be cautious when driving until you know how it affects you.
