Maxidol Liquid Gels contain naproxen sodium, a long-acting anti-inflammatory pain reliever (NSAID). They are especially useful for menstrual cramps, where reducing prostaglandins, the chemicals behind cramping, makes a real difference. They also relieve headaches, back pain and muscle aches. Because naproxen lasts a long time, you need fewer doses per day than with shorter-acting pain relievers.

How to use

Follow the dose, timing and daily maximum on the package. For cramps, it often works best when taken at the first sign of pain. Take it with food or milk if it upsets your stomach.

Important safety information

• Do not take it with other NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen or ASA.
• Do not use it if you have had an allergic reaction to ASA or another NSAID, if you have an active stomach ulcer, or in the last trimester of pregnancy.
• Ask a health professional before use if you:
  • have high blood pressure or heart, kidney or liver disease
  • have asthma
  • take blood thinners, steroids or blood pressure medication
  • are 65 or older
• Stop use and get medical help if you notice black or bloody stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain.
