Tips for better absorption

• Take on an empty stomach if you can. If it upsets your stomach, take it with a small amount of food.
• Take it with a source of vitamin C, such as orange juice, to boost absorption.
• Keep it at least 2 hours apart from tea, coffee, dairy, calcium, antacids, thyroid medication and some antibiotics.

• Confirm iron deficiency with a blood test before starting regular iron.
• Keep out of reach of children. Accidental iron overdose is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in young children.
• Dark stools are normal. Constipation and stomach upset are common side effects.
• Don't use it if you have an iron-overload condition.
