Ingredients

Sudafed Head Cold & Sinus 24 Caplets combines proven cold and sinus relief ingredients in an easy-to-take oral caplet form. This medicine is designed to ease sinus pressure, nasal blockage, and head discomfort linked with upper respiratory congestion. Its ingredient profile supports fast, targeted symptom relief for adults and suitable older children, depending on label directions.

Active Ingredients

Acetaminophen : 325 mg

Pseudoephedrine HCl : 30 mg

Inactive Ingredients

Carnauba wax, colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, pregelatinized starch, titanium dioxide.

How to Use

Take these caplets by mouth with water. Swallow each caplet whole. Do not crush or chew unless the package label clearly states otherwise. You can take this cold and sinus medicine with or without food, but taking it with food can improve comfort if your stomach feels sensitive.

Use the medicine exactly as directed on the label. Follow the stated timing between doses. Do not take extra caplets to speed up relief. This medicine works best when patients start it when sinus pressure, nasal stuffiness, or headache symptoms begin.

For safe use:

  • Read the full package label before the first dose.
  • Use the correct dose for age.
  • Keep track of every dose taken in 24 hours.
  • Avoid using more than one acetaminophen medicine at the same time.
  • Avoid combining it with another decongestant unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Dosage

Use the dose printed on the medicine label or the dose advised by a pharmacist or physician. Adults and children 12 years and older commonly take the labeled dose every stated number of hours as needed, without going over the daily maximum. Children under 12 years should only use it when a healthcare professional confirms it is appropriate.

Important dosage points:

  • Do not exceed the maximum daily amount.
  • Keep proper spacing between doses.
  • Do not double the next dose if one is missed.
  • Stop use if symptoms persist beyond the label guidance.

Because this medicine contains acetaminophen and pseudoephedrine, overdose risk increases when patients combine it with other flu, sinus, pain, or multi-symptom cold medicines.

Precautions

This medicine is not right for every patient. Check with a healthcare professional before use if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, glaucoma, liver disease, difficulty urinating, or an enlarged prostate. Patients taking prescription medicines should review possible interactions before starting treatment.

Use extra caution if you:

  • Take monoamine oxidase inhibitors or used them within the last 14 days.
  • Use stimulant medicines.
  • Have a history of sensitivity to decongestants.
  • Drink alcohol regularly.
  • Have chronic liver concerns.

Stop use and seek medical attention if symptoms become severe, fever worsens, redness or swelling increases, or new symptoms appear. Keep this medicine out of reach of children.

Side Effects

Most patients tolerate this sinus relief medicine well when they use it as directed. Still, side effects can occur. Mild effects often relate to the decongestant action or to stomach sensitivity.

Possible side effects include:

  • Nervousness
  • Restlessness
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Dry mouth
  • Nausea
  • Mild stomach upset
  • Faster heartbeat

Serious reactions require urgent medical attention. These include rash, trouble breathing, severe dizziness, swelling, chest pain, unusual weakness, or signs of liver injury such as yellowing of the skin or dark urine. Taking too much acetaminophen can cause severe liver damage, even if early symptoms seem mild.
