Use this medicine exactly as directed on the package. Swallow each liquid gel capsule with a full glass of water. It can be taken with food if the stomach feels sensitive, though many adults take it without food.For best results:
- Take it at the first sign of pain or fever
- Swallow the capsule whole
- Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule
- Keep doses spaced as directed
- Headache
- Toothache
- Muscular aches
- Backache
- Menstrual cramps
- Minor arthritis pain
- Pain linked with the common cold
- Fever reduction
Dosage
Adults and children 12 years and older should take 1 capsule every 8 to 12 hours while symptoms last. For the first dose, 2 capsules can be taken within the first hour if needed.Important dosing limits:
- Do not take more than 2 capsules in any 8 to 12 hour period
- Do not take more than 3 capsules in 24 hours
- Children under 12 years should use this medicine only under a doctor’s direction
Precautions
This medicine is not right for every patient. Read all warnings before use, especially if there is a history of stomach bleeding, ulcers, kidney problems, heart disease, asthma triggered by aspirin, or allergy to pain relievers.Do not use this medicine if:
- You have had an allergic reaction to naproxen, aspirin, or other NSAIDs
- You are taking another naproxen-based medicine
- You need pain relief right before or after heart bypass surgery
- The safety seal is broken or missing
- Have high blood pressure
- Have liver or kidney disease
- Take blood thinners, diuretics, steroids, or other anti-inflammatory medicines
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a history of stomach ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding
