Aleve Liquid Gels

This pain relief medicine contains naproxen sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) often searched as a pain reliever for headache, back pain, period pain, arthritis pain, and muscle aches.

Ingredients

This medicine contains one active ingredient that targets pain and inflammation, along with inactive ingredients that support the capsule shell, fill, stability, and appearance. Clear ingredient disclosure supports safe use and helps patients review sensitivities before purchase.

Active Ingredients

Naproxen sodium: 220 mg per capsule

Inactive Ingredients

FD&C Blue No. 1, gelatin, glycerin, lactic acid, mannitol, polyethylene glycol, povidone, propylene glycol, sorbitan, sorbitol, water

How to Use

Use this medicine exactly as directed on the package. Swallow each liquid gel capsule with a full glass of water. It can be taken with food if the stomach feels sensitive, though many adults take it without food.

For best results:

  • Take it at the first sign of pain or fever
  • Swallow the capsule whole
  • Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule
  • Keep doses spaced as directed
This medicine is intended for temporary relief of minor aches and pains. It is commonly used for:
  • Headache
  • Toothache
  • Muscular aches
  • Backache
  • Menstrual cramps
  • Minor arthritis pain
  • Pain linked with the common cold
  • Fever reduction

Dosage

Adults and children 12 years and older should take 1 capsule every 8 to 12 hours while symptoms last. For the first dose, 2 capsules can be taken within the first hour if needed.

Important dosing limits:

  • Do not take more than 2 capsules in any 8 to 12 hour period
  • Do not take more than 3 capsules in 24 hours
  • Children under 12 years should use this medicine only under a doctor’s direction
Do not continue use longer than directed unless advised by a healthcare professional. Persistent pain or fever needs medical review.

Precautions

This medicine is not right for every patient. Read all warnings before use, especially if there is a history of stomach bleeding, ulcers, kidney problems, heart disease, asthma triggered by aspirin, or allergy to pain relievers.
